James Ngobia manages Gachiru Estate, his family's farm on the southwestern slope of Mt. Kenya. On these 8 pristine acres of red volcanic soil, the local micro-climate enriches the coffee plant with bright, equatorial sunlight during the day and bathes its fruit in cool, mountain air at night. Nyeri is the only place in the world that can create a coffee this thrilling in its combination of tropical citrus flavors and rich, syrupy sweetness.

I would like to start off with saying I am not a coffee expert. La Colombe coffees have shown me the huge difference between run of the mill coffees and what is possible with special attention to select coffees. The flavors to me are never what is in their descriptions but are very pleasing none the less. There is usually a tomato flavor in there somewhere on my taste buds. This Kenyan coffee however is one of the best coffees I have ever had hands down. The flavors are so complex it’s like going through the colors of a rainbow with every sip. So smooth and no bitterness at all. Great job guys.
