Why You'll Love it: An Ethiopian coffee like this is life-changing. The coffee cherries are dried whole, allowing the seeds to soak up all the beautiful fruit flavors. The fragrance of freshly ground Ardi will fill the entire house with sweetness. It is a wonderfully complex cup of coffee.
Story of the bean: In 1992 in Ethiopia's Great Rift Valley, anthropologists discovered Ardipithecus Ramidus, a 4.4 million year old hominid fossil. "Ardi" sparked a paradigm shift in the understanding of human evolution, and inspired the name of the coffee that changed the way we think about naturally-processed Ethiopians. The ripest cherries are harvested and the coffee seeds remain in the fruit during drying, endowing Ardi with a heavier body and intense berry sweetness.
