About Malawi - Mzuzu Union
A coffee unlike any other from Africa, Mzuzu Union displays unique tropical fruit characteristics with a rich, full body. A hidden gem of African coffees, this unprecedented selection excites and inspires with its depth and vibrancy.
STORY OF THE BEAN:
Coffee has been cultivated in the small southeast African country of Malawi for almost 100 years, but due to years without organized cooperatives, this diamond in the rough has yet to be recognized as a nation that produces quality coffee. That is until recently.
In 2007 the Mzuzu Coffee Planters Cooperative Union was created. Through the union, workers can freely communicate and pool their resources in order to produce exceptional coffee. Malawi Mzuzu Union's light tropical acidity and clean fresh sweetness is finally sharing the secret of excellent Malawi coffee with the rest of the world.
