Story of the Bean:
The Gisheke washing station is situated on a gentle rise along the coast of Lake Kivu. There, the coffee fruit is dried on screens overlooking the lake island of Idjwi. Upon opening in 2018, the washing station immediately was challenged with drying coffees while being bombarded by record rainfall. This year, the new harvest was greeted by a battle-tested team whose seasoned and vigilant watch helped this offering reach its full potential.
