About UsOUR HISTORYLa Colombe began as what many thought to be a pipe dream in the minds of two young friends, Todd Carmichael and Jean-Philippe Iberti, in Seattle circa 1985. It was there while working in coffee and attending college the pair gained an excited appreciation for the skills of traditional European coffee roasting and conceived of a coffee company dedicated to this endeavor. Philadelphia, PA - early 1994, thousands of miles from their home towns of Spokane, WA and Nice, France, the pair unveiled their brainchild and their five flagship blends. And so, La Colombe was born. In no time the coffees gained notice among the Notheast culinary elite and within weeks they were being served in the finest establisments.
OUR CAFESEnter any La Colombe cafe and one immediately notices what is missing -- merchandizing and clutter: branded T-shirts, coffee mugs, CD's and lunch food. It is clear, first and foremost, that the focus is on coffee.
OUR WHOLESALEWhile taste is what draws an establishment to La Colombe wholesale, what binds the relationship is the comfort of relying on a company that not only invests in the mechanics of their coffee program (brewers, etc.) but possesses the infrastructure necessary to support a strong emphasis on service, both in terms of training and mechanical care.
