Let’s Get Started…
Step 1: Weigh
Weigh out 18 grams of coffee on a scale.
Step 2: Grind
Grind the coffee to be a little finer than table salt for an Aeropress.
Step 3: Boil
Bring water to a boil (roughly 200°F).
Step 4: Rinse
Place a filter inside the cap and rinse it with some of your hot water. The water preheats the Aeropress and removes the papery taste of the filter. Then discard the water.
Step 5: Add
Set the Aeropress upside down on top of the scale. Zero (tare) the scale and then add the premeasured coffee grinds. You can use the funnel that comes with the brewer, to help prevent lost coffee.
Step 6: Pour
Time to pour! Zero the scale again. Pour water, slowly allowing the grinds to become saturated. After roughly 30 seconds, pour again this time spinning the chamber to ensure the coffee is evenly saturated, filling the chamber. Give the coffee and water a quick stir in the Aeropress and now it’s time to wait.
Step 7: Enjoy!
After about a minute it’s time to plunge. Hold the Aeropress on both sides and gently flip it right-side up on top of your coffee cup. Gently press down, stopping when you hear the brewer making a hissing sound. Time to enjoy!
