What Is a Light Roast Coffee?

Light roast coffee is roasted to a lower temperature than medium or dark. The shorter roast time preserves more of the bean's natural character, giving you a cup that stays closer to the source than any other roast level.

Since it’s roasted less aggressively, light roast coffee is often considered the purest showcase of a coffee’s origin, acidity, and natural sweetness. Our light roast coffees are almost entirely single-origin, meaning every bag tells the story of one place. Coffees like our Colombia Inga Red Honey feature specialty coffee beans grown in Nariño, showcasing the unique character of that region.

What Is the Difference Between Light, Medium, and Dark Roast Coffee?

Dark roasts are bolder and heavier, carrying more of the roast's influence than the bean's original character.
