Frequently Asked Questions

What Makes Coffee Organic?

Organic coffee means the coffee is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, and that standard is verified through every step from farm to bag. Cleaner growing conditions often mean more authentic and distinct bean flavor. We’re proud our organic coffee beans carry the USDA Organic certification badge.

Which La Colombe coffees are organic?

Deep Bleu Organic is the dark roast of the group, with rich, creamy, dessert-like flavor. Bowery Blend Organic is another great tasting coffee, with notes of fudge, almond butter, and fig. Rouge Organic sits in the middle, smooth, medium roast, made with cherry, caramel, and apple notes. We also offer Honduras Luna Azul Decaf which is both organic and decaf.

Does organic coffee taste different from regular coffee?

Not necessarily. Organic describes the growing standard, not the flavor. Roast level and where the coffee is grown have a much bigger effect on taste than whether it’s organic. Every organic bean goes through the same roasting standard as the rest of our lineup.
