S’mores latte recipe

S’mores latte ingredients

Optional garnishes

  • Whipped cream
  • Crushed graham crackers
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate shavings or chocolate sprinkles

1. Prepare the flavor base

In a mixing glass or bowl, add 1 oz of chocolate sauce and 0.5 oz of toasted marshmallow syrup. Stir to combine.

2. Brew the espresso

Pull a shot of espresso (if you don’t have a traditional espresso machine, a Keurig or Nespresso espresso pod works too!). You can also prepare a strong brewed coffee instead. Pour the hot espresso into the cup with the chocolate and syrup mixture, stirring to combine.

3. Steam the milk

Steam 6-8 oz of your preferred milk until hot and frothy. If you don’t have a steam wand, heat the milk on the stove or microwave and froth it using a whisk or a handheld frother.

4. Assemble the latte

Slowly pour the steamed milk into your cup, stirring gently to combine all the ingredients.

5. Garnish & serve

Top with whipped cream, crushed graham crackers, and mini marshmallows. For an extra treat, torch the marshmallows lightly with a a sprinkle of chocolate shavings or fresh strawberry slices for an extra indulgent touch. Enjoy your homemade Strawberry Mocha.

FAQ

What type of chocolate works best? For the richest flavor, use high-quality chocolate sauce or melt dark chocolate. Cocoa powder mixed with a bit of sweetener also works.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Toast the marshmallows. Spread the mini marshmallows on a baking sheet and broil on high for 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning. They should be golden brown and slightly melted.
  2. Make the syrup base. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar and water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the marshmallows. Stir in the toasted marshmallows and continue to heat for another 2-3 minutes, whisking frequently to help dissolve the marshmallows into the syrup.
  4. Strain (optional). For a smoother syrup, strain through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any undissolved marshmallow bits.
  5. Add vanilla. Stir in the vanilla extract for extra depth of flavor.
  6. Cool & store. Let the syrup cool, then transfer to a bottle or jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

3 WAYS TO TOAST YOUR MARSHMALLOWS

For a true s'mores experience, lightly toast marshmallows. This adds a smoky, caramelized touch to enhance the flavor. Here are three ways to do it at home:

  1. Using a Kitchen Torch: Hold a mini marshmallow with a skewer or fork and lightly pass the flame over it until golden brown.
  2. Using an Oven Broiler: Place marshmallows on a baking sheet and broil on high for 1-2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  3. Using a Gas Stove: Carefully hold a marshmallow over an open flame with a skewer and rotate until toasted.
